Today something unexpected happened, while we were on the plane—that was supposed to guide us to safety as mum said—we made a forceful landing on a deserted island. There were no grownups and the pilot was nowhere to be found. The only passengers aboard the plane were boys the eldest boys where twelve. The only ones I knew where the boys from the choir and my win brother, Eric. Eric and I agreed that we would record the events occurring on the island while we are here.
After the airplane crashed, we found the other boys when we followed a sound—which we later found out was a conch being blown—into a platform. We introduced ourselves and we met a faired haired boy named Ralph. Moments later Ralph became chief for our little tribe—all the boys took a vote and he won. We also met Piggy; a boy who is gets picked on by a raid-head named Jack because he’s fat.
Piggy seems to be smart; he was trying to get all the names of the boys down. No one ever listens to him though. Plus, Jack is quite a character; he will always cut off Piggy in whatever he is saying. I know that Jack hates Piggy. He’s intimidating and Piggy is terrified of him. Though my brother and I have been so long with Jack there is always a sense of authority around him.
Jack was the leader of our choir and he wasn’t very happy with Ralph being chief, but in the end he succumbed to democracy. Simon also came with us Jack, seconds after we arrived to the platform, Simon blacked out. It wasn’t unusual; it has happened sometimes before when we traveled so we knew what to do. Simon is a very nice boy and he gets along with everyone. When he recovered, him, our chief—Ralph—and Jack went on an expedition to look around the island and see if there were any grownups. Piggy wanted to go with them, but his request was denied and Jack hurled more offensive comments at him.
We have some sort of order in our first day on the island; I think it could work like this, but what to do if it doesn’t? I’m terrified to think that it could get out of control, but I and Eric trust Ralph and he said that we were here to have fun. Ralph is the chief; he’ll know what to do if anything happens. We’ll know in the morning.
