The Aftermath of a Mistake

After the blowout, the air between Ralph and Jack was noticeably different. Ralph now turned to Piggy. Jack had the pig and Sam and I yearned for the meat, so we followed Jack and helped him start the fire. We screwed meat on branches and held them to the hungry flames, our mouths dribbled with the scent.

Ralph soon showed up with Piggy and meat was offered to them, they to yearn for the meat. Piggy was at first left in doubt because Jack stated that he didn’t take part on the hunt either, but still got meat. Simon blushed while we all stared at the scene with mouths agape. Simon gave his piece to Piggy; another piece was given to Simon by the now raging Jack.

Jack exploded; there was something about Jack that scares me, the overpowering crave of authority floats around him and his words and looks prove to you that he’s important, but I know he wouldn’t be a good chief, but there’s no doubt he’s dangerous.

After everyone ate, we did our chant and Maurice played the pig, the rest were hunters. At first it seemed a game, but soon enough I got the feeling it was becoming too real.
